Derwin "Dean" Biederman, 1937 - 2013
Derwin "Dean" Biederman, age 75 passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at his residence in Alger, Ohio.
He was born on October 21, 1937 in Alger, Ohio to Ralph E. and Irene O. (Van Riper) Biederman, and they preceded him in death.
He first married Clara Ellen Thompson and she preceded him in death. On February 14, 2003 he married on D. Karen Trusty and she preceded him in death on October 9, 2010.
Dean worked as a foreman for Pfizer Inc. of California and later worked at Campbell's Soup Co. in Arkansas. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1955 to 1961, where he served as a Drill Instructor. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge. He was a member of the Good Sam Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa (Dean) Gamache of Ada; one granddaughter, Katelyn Gamache Smith; two brothers: Melvin (Tana) Biederman of Wapakoneta and Dale E. Biederman of Kenton; sister-in-law, Shirley Biederman of Kenton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Rev. Ralph Biederman and Melbourne Biederman; three sisters: Wadelene Reed, Naomi Moore and infant sister, Valgara Biederman.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Jack Duffy officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger with graveside Military Services conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Monday, March 18, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
