33rd year for Ada Kiwanis Club to make Arbor Day donation
The Ada Kiwanis Club presented its annual $500 donation to the Village of Ada for its annual tree-planting efforts at the Arbor Day celebration held on April 26 at the Ada Schools.
In presenting the check, President Myrna McCurdy said, “It has been our privilege to make this annual presentation for the past 33 years. The motto of Kiwanis International is 'Serving the Children of the World.' The membership of the Ada Kiwanis Club works to serve the children and future adults of our community.
Our annual donation of money for trees is our way of showing children how we also work to create a better, more green environment.”
This marks the 33d consecutive year the club has made the donation bringing the grand total of $16,500 donated by the club for the village’s Arbor Day efforts.
The Ada Kiwanis Club was chartered in March of 1924.
The club meets every Tuesday at noon in McIntosh Center, at ONU. Guests are always welcome.
