The Buy Ada First Committee is having a cash mob at Reichart's, 111-113 S. Main St., from 3-5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20.

The cash mob takes place at one of Ada’s most prominent retai stores.

"Fred Reichert welcomed our invitation to host the cash mob. Fred hosted the first-ever cash mob in Ada back in October of 2012,” said Heather Cox, member of the committee.
Cox said that to make the cash mob even more inviting to customers, Reichert’s will offer 10 percent off all items purchased during the cash mob.

Ada High School athletes excelled on the playing field and in the classrooom this fall. Here is the list of Ada athletes who were named scholar athletes by the Northwest Conference.

The criteria for gaining scholar athlete recognition by the conference is as follows:
Gold Level: Varsity letter earned in the sport and a grading period GPA of 3.5 or above
Silver Level: Varsity letter earned in the sport and a grading period GPA of 3.00 to 3.49    

Carla M. Dysert, 56, of Ada, was killed in a two-vehicle accident this morning at 8:42 a.m. on State Route 81 in Allen County, according to a report from the Allen County Sheriff’s office.

James R. Britt, 30, of Ada, was injured in the crash.

According to the sheriff’s report, the crash occurred when Britt, heading eastbound on Ohio State Route 81, lost control of his 1994 Mazda and went over the center line and into the path of Dysert’s 2004 Buick SUV, which was headed west.

Following the crash Britt was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Alice J. Irwin Wood, 92, died on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 at 10:34 a.m. at her residence in Centerville, Ohio.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1922 in Ada to Paul and Jessie (Norris) Klingler and they preceded her in death. Alice married James Irwin on May 23, 1943, and he died on Nov. 25, 1952. She later married on June 15, 1991 Robert Wood and he died on Dec. 30, 1991.
Alice retired from Ohio Northern University, Ada where she worked as a secretary. She formerly worked for Hindall & Sons.
