Women's tennis clinches share of OAC regular season title with 9-0 win over Capital

The Ohio Northern women's tennis clinched clinched a share of the OAC regular season championship with a 9-0 victory at Capital on Tuesday afternoon at the Capital Tennis Courts.
The Polar Bears are now 22-4 on the season and 8-0 in OAC play, while the Crusaders fall to 7-10, 4-4.
Northern can clinch its third consecutive OAC regular season title and the top seed in the OAC tournament outright, with a win over Muskingum on Saturday at the University Courts at 1 pm.
The Polar Bears have all ready clinched a home match in the OAC tournament quarterfinals that will be played Wednesday, May 1, at 3:30 pm.
ONU jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play, winning all three courts by 8-2 scores.
Junior Michelle Tuma and freshman Rachael Miller won at No. 1 doubles, sophomore Brittany Miller and freshman Taryn Stromback won at the No. 2 position and freshman Meghan Letizia and junior Lauren Rife were victorious at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Tuma won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and freshman Christina Corbean won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Rachael Miller and junior Kelsi Wurm won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Letizia won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and Rife was victorious at No. 6 singles by a 6-0, 6-2 score.
