Ohio Northern University has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the PPG Foundation on behalf of its coatings services facility located in Lima.
The funds will support the ONU Smull College of Engineering’s STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities by expanding participation in the TEAMS competition hosted by the college.
With the grant funding, PPG will become the primary sponsor of the annual TEAMS (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science) competition.

CONVOY - Host Crestview bombed in a dozen triples and rode a 28-4 second period to a 75-37 victory over Ada in Northwest Conference girls basketball play Thursday night.
The Bulldog girls dropped to 5-12 overall and 0-5 in the NWC after their fifth consecutive defeat. Meanwhile, the Lady Knights evened their records at 8-8 and 3-3 in the NWC with the victory.
Crestview led just 13-11 after the first period as Ada junior Kylie Acheson scored all five of her points to help keep the Bulldog girls close. But the Lady Knights blew it open with a huge second quarter to lead 41-15 at intermission.
Ada school board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, in executive session, according to Matt Gossman, board president.
The meeting will be to evaluate the superintendent and treasurer and to consider personnel issues. No action is anticipated following the session, according to Gossman.

Four Ohio Northern University students have been selected as University Innovation Fellows (UIF) by Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design.
The students, who are enrolled in ONU’s Smull College of Engineering, are Andrew Bergmann of Grandview Heights, Ohio; Katelyn Keckler of Brunswick, Ohio; Matthew Opara of Findlay, Ohio; and Cassandra Stuber of Lima, Ohio.
The University Innovation Fellows program is designed to encourage student participants to further develop the design-thinking, innovation and creativity to make the most of their college experiences and succeed in their career pursuits.
