Ada's newest business sells vehicles offering 50-60 mpg
CRUISE ADA IN A GOLF CART - WATCH THE VIDEO AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STORY.
Interested in high gas mileage…say 50 to 60 miles per gallon? If so, there’s a vehicle for sale in Ada just waiting for you.
Ada’s newest business, Ohio Cart Parts, is open for business and, yes, sells street-ready four-wheel vehicles that will take you all over town for the gas mileage quoted in the first sentence.
Janice Clemons, owner of the business located at 4171 State Route 235, sells and services used golf carts.
“I bought my first cart in July of 2012, started the business in a garage, and because of the demand moved to the building south of town this spring,” she said.
“We sell used golf carts, parts, accessories, batteries and custom seats,” she said. “All the carts we sell were originally made for golf course use. They are affordable, fun to drive and can reach about 20 miles per hour.”
In addition, the business offers small engine repair and lawn mower repair.
She added that some carts are gas driven and others are totally electric. The electric models run on six batteries and can usually cover 60 miles on a full charge. The gas versions average between 50 and 60 miles per gallon.
All carts sold by Ohio Car Part-N-More are street legal.
“We will inspect the cart at the Ada police station, get the title and vehicle plate. The carts require homeowners or car insurance,” said Clemons.
A grand opening is planned later. Business hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
