Hardin County Hootanannies 4-H Club report
By Reporter, Faith Holbrook
The Hardin Co Hootanannies 4-H club’s last meeting was opened by president, Laura Spradlin. Meadow Cromer led the American flag pledge and Seth Davis led the 4-H pledge. Secretary, Miranda Holbrook did roll call and there were 14 members present.
Old business – the Goat Clinic was discussed and has been postponed to Aug 4th. The committee didn’t feel they had time to do it right. They will hold it at the home of Meadow and Callie Cromer for our group. However, anyone who is showing goats will be welcome to join us for a very informational time. Also, forms were given out for times to help with our community service project.
New business - Project books were in and passed out. Also, new forms for “My Animal’s Drinking Water” were handed out and need to be completed and taken to our livestock interviews this summer.
Quality Assurance was taught by Advisor, Melissa Rofe. Megan Williams and Laura Spradlin had to roll play relating people health to animal health. Then each member was put into a group of two or three and given a scenario card to read and answer questions about animal health and safety.
The next meeting will be Sun May 19th at 4 PM at the Ag Credit meeting room. Prior to the meeting, at 3 PM the club members are welcome to join in our community service of planting a tree on the Ag Credit lot. Wear clothes you can get dirty in, gloves, and closed-toe shoes. Seth Davis and Callie Cromer have health and safety reports and Miranda and Faith Holbrook will be making refreshments using our Star Spangled Foods (group project) guidelines.
