• In honor of Open Access Week 2020, ONU librarians Heather Crozier and Chris Deems address the concept of Open Access, how it can benefit society, and what ONU is doing to support and encourage this method of publishing.

A sloth and dog companion were among Halloweeners who took advantage of Ohio Northern University Residential Life drive-thru trick-or-treat event on campus Tuesday. Check out many more photos of the event, which drew an estimated 300-plus people in 75 vehicles, according to Isaiah Bailey, event coordinator.

Village pick up begins Monday; here's the fall schedule

Leaf pick-up in Ada begins Monday, Oct. 26.

Members of the village street department follow the schedule as best as possible depending on the weather. The village is divided into four sections.

Here are the regularly scheduled leaf pick-ups:
• Northwest - District A
Mondays: pick-up dates Oct. 26, Nov. 2, Nov. 9, Nov. 16, Nov. 30  

• Northeast - District B
Tuesdays: pick-up dates Oct. 27, Nov. 3, Nov. 10, Nov. 17, Dec. 1

• Southeast - District C
Wednesdays - pick-up dates Oct. 28, Nov. 4, Nov. 11, Nov. 18, Dec. 2

DELPHOS - Ada senior scoring ace Jacob Poling was voted first team All-Northwest Conference in boys soccer this week by the league coaches.

Ada junior defensive ace Tyler Jameson also was named first team All-NWC. 

Poling scored 32 goals overall this season to help the Bulldogs finish a strong second in the NWC at 4-1.

Junior midfielder Isaac Williams and senior Ian Dellifield both earned second team All-NWC honors. Sophomore defender Brendan Jameson also earned honorable menton all-league honors.

Senior Jonathan Schriner of league champion Bluffton (5-0) was voted NWC boys Player of the Year.

DELPHOS - Ada senior Brenna Hissong repeated as a first team All-Northwest Conference soccer player in voting conducted by the league coaches.

The consistent and powerful Hissong was a four-time all-league honoree as a defender and midfielder.

Freshman center-midfielder Ella Marshall also was named first team All-NWC in her first season.

Junior wide midfielder Lauren Mullins earned second team all-conference honors.

Junior defender Hailey Robirds was named honorable mention all-league.

The Lady Bulldogs finished 2-4 in NWC play, good for fifth place in the league.

DELPHOS - Two Ada spikers were named to the All-Northwest Conference volleyball team in voting conducted by the league coaches recently.

Senior middle Megan Light was named second team All-NWC. The 5-11 Light led the Lady Bulldogs in kills and blocks. She was a first team all-league pick the last two seasons.

Junior setter Kirsten Poling earned honorable mention all-league. She topped Ada in assists and was among the team leaders in blocks and digs. 

Ada finished 2-6 in the NWC, good for seventh place in the tough nine-team league.
