HARROD - It poured rain almost right up to game time, and then host Allen East poured it on backyard rival Ada 41-14 in the Northwest Conference and regular season opener Friday night at Mustang Stadium.
AE (1-0, 1-0 NWC East) ran out to a 41-0 halftime lead to earn the opening victory. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs start 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the NWC East.
Here is the Ada High School Bulldog football team of 1940. Unfortunately, the yearbook did not provide names of players.
The yearbook did provide a summary of the season, which is attached below. Phil Shipe was the coach. The team compiled a 6-3 overall record, playing as an independent.
Can't you just smell the fresh bread baking? Nothing like a warm fireplace. But, this familiar Ada scene represents more than just a warm fireplace. It means that Cosi has reopened for business. The familiar South Main Street coffee shop and diner reopened as ONU students returned for the fall semester.
September arrives this week and several events are scheduled in the community. These are posted on the Ada Icon's Hometown Happenings, compiled by Darlene Bowers.
