ADA - The Ada girls soccer team kicked off its 2020 campaign at home Saturday with a 2-0 loss vs. visiting Tiffin Columbian.
TC scored both goals in the first half, including one in the first two minutes. Then their second goal was netted with just nine seconds left before intermission.
"It was a tough loss," said new Lady Bulldog head coach A.J. Wahlie of his debut. "Ella Marshall, a freshman, had a fantastic game for us at center back.
"While it wasn't the result we wanted, it was a fantastic learning opportunity for our group," he noted. "We started four freshmen who really grew as the 80 minutes went on."

RAWSON - The Ada volleyball team won a road match in straight sets to start its season off well Saturday morning.
The Lady Bulldogs convincingly beat local non-league rival Cory-Rawson 25-14, 25-13, 25-14 to begin 1-0.
"We started our season off strong and worked well together as a team," said third-year head coach Kyleigh Tabor. "It was a great win for JV as well."
Versatile junior Kirsten Poling topped Ada with 14 assists, five kills, seven digs and two blocks. Senior Megan Light knocked down seven kills, came up with six digs, served three aces and made a pair of blocks.

I just want to send out a big thank to all those who made summer a little more like a “normal” summer with the Ada swimming pool being open!
A big thank you to the Ada Village Council for having the courage to say “yes!” to having the pool open; knowing it was a big risk, knowing it was going to take a lot of work to get the pool ready, and knowing there was not much money to be made from this (if any).
A big thank you to the Village administration for all their work in preparing the pool. The entrance and exit set-up were both safe and smooth, following all the protocols necessary. Well designed!

This was the scene on Friday as teachers and staff members distributed Chromebooks and school supplies to Ada students. The first day of school is today.

Summer is a great time to explore the art spread across the Ada community – especially for viewers unable to visit art galleries elsewhere in Ohio.
As a weekly series, The Icon will feature the art located on The Remington Walk on the Ohio Northern University campus. For some viewers, this series is familiar. For others, it may be a first-time experience.
Either way, it’s an opportunity to take a walk and view some art that is uniquely Ada. The Walk is spread through campus and may be viewed by following the ONU walking path, beginning near Affinity Village, west of The Freed Center.
