Fred Steiner of the Ada Icon is the guest speaker at the Wednesday, Feb. 26, OWLS meeting in Ada.
The program is at First United Methodist Church with a noon luncheon followed by a talk by Steiner about the Ada Icon.
The local news website was launched in March 2012. Today it experiences over 10,000 individual viewers in a 30-day period, has 70 advertisers, over 2,700 Facebook followers and posts an average of 50 stories each week.
OhioMeansJobs Hardin County and Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance will hold a Hardin County Job Fair and Hiring Expo from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, at Hardin County Fairgrounds, Community Building, 14134 County Road 140, Kenton.
The morning session is limited to Hardin County students only.
Over 40 employers, agencies and education providers will be on site and hiring full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

Corsie Arn, Ada branch operations manager of Liberty National Bank, was recognized for her many years at treasurer of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.
She was presented with an appreciation award from Deb Curlis and Heather Cox during the chamber’s annual luncheon on Feb. 19.
Arn has served as treasurer of the chamber during the years of her membership on the board. Her term expired in December.

The Hardin County Astronomy Club will meet tonight, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. at the McGuffey multipurpose room, behind the post office on Courtright Street. If weather conditions allow, there may be some observing if sky conditions allow. Otherwise, the club will have a program.
Historian Anne Hyde will read from and discuss her award-winning book, Empires, Nations, and Families: A New History of the North American West, 1800-1860, at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, in the Wilson Building Elzay Art Gallery at Ohio Northern University. The event is free and open to the public.
Hyde's book was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in History and won the Bancroft Prize, the most important award in the field of American history.
