Kyle Neff still remembers the day, April 30, 2012. It was on this day where Neff, an eighth-grader at the time, had to have surgery to remove a Brodie abscess in his leg.
It laymen's terms, Neff had a small chunk of infected matter in his femur. In order to remedy the situation, Neff needed it removed, and the recovery time was extensive.

Health officials continue to investigate e-cigarettes as the number of reported respiratory problems tied to vaping continues to rise.
Recently, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning about a possible risk of respiratory issues tied to e-cig products. At the end of August, the FDA stated that 25 states had reported 215 possible cases of such issues.
The FDA said it is working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other government partners to investigate recent severe lung injuries and deaths tied to vaping.

Depending on your age you called it the racket store, the five and ten, the dime store or the variety store. If you had a nickel or a dollar you could leave the store with two or three items.
Leona Pope, 83, died on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at 11:45 a.m. at her residence in Ada.
She was born on March 10, 1936, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to the late Burton and Della (Marshall) Patton. Leona was previously married to James Pope on Oct. 19, 1955, and they divorced, he preceded her in death in 2016.
Leona was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ada Pentecostal Church and played the tambourine at church. She also enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and playing the spoons. Leona loved her grandkids, family and her dog, Sissy.
Renovation of the Ada Municipal Building is on track except for the elevator - you can see the incompleted elevator and shaft here. Flooring projects on each of the building's levels can't proceed until the elevator is installed, which is now estimated for sometime in November.
