On the other hand, some divisions do ask for voluntary contributions to support the travel and expenses of the Lieutenant Governor.

Something to consider:
From “Live and Love and Pass it On” from someone aged 34, “I’ve learned that once a woman decides she wants something, never underestimate her ability to get it.” And from a 62 year old, “I’ve learned that an economist is the only person who can be right just 10 % of the time and still get a paycheck.”

Mike Hood introduced Thomas Simmons the Ohio Northern Athletic Director gave a presentation on the current state of athletics at the university.

Tom explained how he had grown up in Ada and graduated from Ohio Northern University with degrees in Business and Sports Management.

He explained his love of ONU and working with the great students and he explained how he not only loves to win, but he is most proud of the academic accomplishments of the student athletes exemplified by the two NCAA Elite 89 awards won last year.

He explained that the best recruiting tool he has is the academic quality of the programs at ONU.

Tom also described the new facilities including the new artificial turf and the lights for the fields.

He explained how the upgraded facilities materialized and how these new facilities will benefit ONU including the ability to start new lacrosse program (ONU is the 8th university in the OAC to add this sport).

He also talked about how the athletics programs provide opportunities to bring significant numbers of people to campus and provide a way to put the academic programs in front of people that would otherwise not be tuned in to the university. He also explained the wonderful event last year where the university honored over 300 veterans and included four F-14s fly overhead.
