Thomas L. Spencer, 1932-2013
Thomas L. Spencer, age 80, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at his residence in Harrod, Ohio.
He was born on September 5, 1932 in Hardin County, Ohio to Myrel T. and Thelma Beartrice (Gossard) Spencer, and they preceded him in death.
Thomas was a farmer and he retired from the Ford Motor Company, Lima where he worked on the assembly line. He was a graduate of Roundhead High School in 1950. He was a member of the Hog Creek Game Club and of the UAW Local #1219 of Lima.
Surviving are one brother: Jerry (Barb) Spencer of Cridersville; two sisters: Barbara Ann Smith of Clearwater, FL and Nancy (Mike) Greeley of Lima; a brother-in-law, John Brinkman of LaFayette; a sister-in-law, Edith Spencer of Kenton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: William F. Spencer and Eugene Spencer; a sister, Kaylene Brinkman; a nephew, Jeff Spencer.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Rev. Gale Gephart officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Westminster.
Friends may call 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
