Visitation Sunday for Michael Stavenger, former Ada school board member
Michael W. Stavenger, 67, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Lost Creek Care Center, Lima.
He was born on April 29, 1946, in Ravenna, Ohio, to Earl G. and Viola B. (Chambers) Stavenger and they preceded him in death. On June 25, 1967, he married Jean A. Rayl and she survives in Ada.
Mr. Stavenger retired as a grocery and food broker. He was a member of the Ada Lions Club; former member of the school board for Ada Schools; former Cub Scout master for Troop #124.
Also surviving are a son, Jason (Stephanie) Stavenger of Columbus; a daughter, Julie Stavenger of Ada; a grandson, Hunter Stavenger; mother-in-law, Eunice Rayl of Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by a infant son, Joseph Stavenger; a brother, Glenn Stavenger; father-in-law, Dick Rayl.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Tom Dearth officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ada Lions Club Scholarship Fund.
