Helen L. Hadley, 1920-2013
Helen L. Hadley, 93, died at 4 a.m. Sept. 14, 2013, at The Arbors Nursing Home in Delaware, Ohio.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1920, in Tuscarawas County, Ohio to Jesse and Ruby Maurer Dietz, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 29, 1938, she married David B. Hadley, who died Oct. 12, 1991.
Mrs. Hadley graduated from Sugarcreek Shanesville High School in 1937. She retired from Irene's Bridal Shop, Lima, where she worked as a seamstress. She was a member of Alger Assembly of God Church and a former member of Harrod United Methodist Church and the UMW. She volunteered as an adviser for Harrod Cheerful Workers 4-H Club for 25 years.
Survivors include three sons, David Hadley, of Worthington, OH, Robert (Teresa) Hadley, of Summerville, Fla., and Mark (Michelle) Hadley, of Westerville, OH; three daughters, Karen Khan, of Seattle, WA, Suzan (James) George, of Oregon, OH, and Carmen Hadley, of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren, Tony Khan, Shireen Khan, Rob (Ann) Hadley, Dana (Joseph) Roman, Eric (Michele) George, Chris George, Allison Hadley and Monica Hadley; and seven great-grandchildren, Joseph Roman, Christopher Roman, Zoe Dee-Khan, Sierra Dee-Khan, Jason Dee-Khan, Emma George, and Maxwell George.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Dietz; and her grandparents, William and Addie Lenhart Dietz, and George and Ida Maurer.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. May 2, 2014, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Sugarcreek, at a later date.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. May 2, 2014, at the funeral home in Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alger Assembly of God Church and/or Harrod United Methodist Church.
