Albert "Bud" Garver was a WWII Navy veteran
Albert R. "Bud" Garver, age 86, died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 5:02 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
He was born on February 10, 1927 in Marion County, Ohio to Albert R. and Geneva (Hitchcock) Garver who preceded him in death. On May 21, 1945 he married Mae Ann Evans and she died on January 24, 2002. He later married Dorothy (Poe) Freund on January 4, 2006 and she survives in Ada.
Bud was a welder for Superior Coach of Lima and General Dynamics of Lima retiring in 1991. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII with the 301 NCB's.
Also surviving are two sons: Mark (Mary) Garver of Ada and Gregg (Deb) Garver of Ada; five daughters: Maxine (David) Crawford of Columbus Grove, JoAnn (Larry) Gullett of Roundhead, Toni (Terry) Brite of Ada, Robin (Backus) Wakim of Miami Beach, FL and Lisa (J.B.) Risner of Ada; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren; a brother: Morgan (Joie) Garver of Charlotte, NC.
He was preceded in death by a still born son, Ronald Eugene in 1947; two brothers: Richard Garver and Clarence Garver; five sisters: Agnes Robsich, Shirley Garver, Donnabelle Stinhelfer, Betty Schultz and Irene Richendollar.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada with graveside military rites conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation and/or American Heart Association.
