Minnie F. Ray, 1923-2013
Minnie F. Ray, age 90, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 9:10 a.m. at Kindred Hospital, Lima, Ohio.
She was born on March 3, 1923 in Greeneville, TN to James Orvil and Verdia (Wallace) Bryant who preceded her in death. She married Lark Howard and he died on June 21, 1967. She then married Morgan Ray on June 1, 1977 and he died on September 13, 1981.
Minnie was a homemaker and a member of the Alger Family Worship Center.
Surviving are five sons: Bobby Bryant, Lonnie (Candice) Howard of Kenton, Clyde (Brenda) Howard of Alger, Kenneth Howard of Lima and Andy (Amy) Ray of Wapakoneta; two daughters: Nancy Jane Arnett of Alger and Alma (Lester) Burkett of Alger; and three sisters: Betty Jarnagan of Roundhead, Bertha Gulley of TN and Frances Henderson of Bluffton; nineteen grandchildren: Michelle, Shonda, Chasity, Shirley, Jamie, Christin, Jennifer, Travis, Calvin, Daryl, Lance, Jasmine, Lacey, Rodney, Angie, Eddie, Jeff, David and Nellie. Also surviving are 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Charley, Alfred , James and Clyde and 3 sisters: Louise Gibson, Elizabeth Rowe and Josie Heck.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Rev. Tex Rowe officiating.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alger Family Worship Center.
