What classes are you taking this year?
College Prep English, Psychology, Spanish I, Communications, Physics and choir.
What’s your favorite subject?
Psychology. We are learning why people do what they do.
I understand you have some big plans after graduation.
Yes. I’ve enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard. Next summer I’ll go to basic training for nine weeks then I’ll go to an assigned unit, which is the Middletown 324th Military Police Battalion.
So, you are going to be a Military Police officer?
Yes. I’ll be in the Guard for eight years. Six years of active duty and two years in ready reserve.
Do you have any college plans?
I plan to attend Ohio State University – Lima my first year. Then go to Columbus for three years. I’d like to major in criminal psychology or criminal justice law enforcement.
When did you decide you wanted to be an MP?
I’ve always wanted to do it. Last October I decided that I wanted to join the National Guard.
Tell me about your sports involvement at Ada.
I’ve been on the soccer team four years. I played midfield. Last year I was on swim team. I’ve also played baseball two years, plus this coming spring, I’ve played second base, outfield and pitcher.
What was your best-ever game?
It was against Riverdale my sophomore year. We played at the Columbus Crew stadium and won 1-0.
What’s the best movie you’ve ever seen?
Bad Grandpa. I saw it a Regal Theatre. On a scale of 1 to 5, I’d give it a 7.
How about the absolute worst movie?
A remake of, I can’t remember the name of it. It was pretty bad.
I see you are reading Victor Hugo’s Hunchback of Notre Dame.
We are major reading section of it in class.
Do you have an after school job?
I’ve worked at Subway for two years.
What’s your favorite sandwich?
Steak and cheese or chicken bacon ranch. The most popular is buffalo chicken.
Ever have any detentions?
One. In the eighth grade. I decided to toss a paper airplane in math class. I just tossed it and got a detention. Had to stay after school.
Are you a packer or buyer at lunch?
I’m a packer. Every day it’s two peanut butter sandwiches, chips, a snack and water. Every day.
Do you have much music on your phone?
Actually, I listen to Pandora Radio. I have about 10 stations. I probably listen to country more than any other type of music.
