Freed Center offers "Band-o-Rama: Nov. 3

ADA — Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents Band-o-Rama on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 4 p.m.

 The Ohio Northern University Marching Band offers an exciting performance to celebrate another successful season when they perform selections from their 2013 program “Divalicious.”

The “Star of the Northwest” will perform the music of several great female vocalists and vocal groups. Opening with the Supremes’ hit “Set me Free” and continuing with Aretha Franklin’s smash hit “Respect,” the program includes Madonna’s hit “Like a Virgin,” Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love,” and “I Dream A Dream” from the musical “Les Miserables.” The program also includes a selection made popular in the movie “Apocalypse Now,” Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries.” The band also will play one of Verdi’s most popular works, “La donna é mobile.”

During the past few weeks, the Northern Marching Band has performed for literally millions of fans, both on and off campus. The “Star Of Northwest Ohio” recently traveled to New York City, where they were invited to lead the New York City Columbus Day Parade.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors and non-ONU students, $5 for children, and $5 for ONU students, faculty and staff.
