Julie James 1923 - 2013
Julie James, 89, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at 8:40 a.m. at Kindred Hospital, Lima, Ohio.
She was born on Dec. 7, 1923 in Wapakoneta, Ohio, to Francis and Catherine (Nuss) Pohlabel who preceded her in death. On Nov. 18, 1943, she married William E. James and he preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 2004.
Shewas a homemaker and farm wife. She attended St. Gerard Catholic school in Lima until the 10th grade. Then her family moved to Kenton where she was a 1942 graduate of Kenton High School. She was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church and the Liberty Grange. Previously she was a fundraiser and board member of the Hardin County American Heart Association.
Surviving are one son: Bill (Cindy) James II; two daughters: Kathy (Dennis) Burris and Cotta (Jack) Daniels, all of Ada.
Six grandchildren: Brent (Sharon) Burris of Kenton, Nick (Melissa) Daniels, Trey "Bill" James III (fiancé, Heather Stratton), Brittany Daniels, Jessica James and Chris James all of Ada.
Five great grandchildren: DJ (Michelle) Burris, Kenton, Ohio; Jesa Green, Ada, Kyan Daniels, Ada, Lena Daniels, Ada, and Taylor Grace James, Ada. One great great granddaughter: Brooklyn Burris of Kenton, Ohio. One sister: Mary Ann Rumer of Decatur, Ala.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Jerry Pohlabel and Larry Pohlabel; and two sisters: Beulah Wanamaker and Lucille Pohlabel.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Rev. G. Alan Brown, O.S.L. and Pastor Courtnie Morton officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call 2- 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, and until time of service on Wednesday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ada, Ohio.
