Arden E. “Stretch” Roberson, BSEd '49, H of F '75, a U.S. Navy Veteran, served in World War II from 1944-46 before graduating from Ohio Northern University in 1949 with a degree in health and physical education. He later earned a Master of Science in education from Kent State University.

The program will feature “Zealous Advocacy and Testing Boundaries: The Role of a Criminal Defender” presented by Judge Amul R. Thapar, United States district judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Thapar is the country’s first South Asian Article III judge. President George W. Bush nominated him to the federal bench on May 24, 2007, and the United States Senate confirmed him by unanimous consent on Dec. 13, 2007.
