BOWLING GREEN - Ada junior Klava Katayama finished second in two events at the Div. II swim districts hosted by Bowling Green State University Friday evening to qualify for a third consecutive visit to the state meet at Canton.
Katayama took second in the 50-yard freestyle and second in the 100 butterfly race to qualify for the state meet at Canton in both events.
Katayama will compete Feb. 21-22 at the 43rd annual girls Ohio state meet. The boys state meet is being held for the 92nd time.

Ohio Northern University students provided new meaning to the term ice-breaker with the annual Polar Plunge from on Saturday at the pond inside of fraternity circle.
The annual event, sponsored by Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, raises money for the American Red Cross. Students pay $5 each to jump into the lake or to sponsor a friend.
This is the 10th annual plunge, which raises between $1,000 and $2,000 each year.
Members of the Ada-Liberty Township fire department broke the ice for the jumpers.
ONU men's and women's basketball teams finished their regular seasons with wins on Saturday versus Muskingum. Both game results follow.

The Ohio Northern men's basketball team celebrated Senior Day with a 79-63 victory over Muskingum on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears end their season with a 7-18 overall record and finish tied for ninth in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 3-15 league mark.

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) will host “Healthy Living with Diabetes,” part of the “Live and Learn” series, to educate the community about methods of coping with diabetes that promote healthy lifestyles.
This event will be held on Tuesday, March 12, from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium of Blanchard Valley Hospital and led by Thomas Grace, MD, from the Blanchard Valley Diabetes Center, a division of BVHS.
