The Ada Public Library ended the summer reading program last week with the most ever participants.
This year, 550 local residents turned in logs about what they read. This is the first year that the library has passed the 500 figure.
To end the program, the library sponsored a pool/pizza party and the traditional “sliming” of the library director and youth services director, Rhett Grant and Natalie Walton.
The Hardin Northern class of 1958 met July 14 to celebrate 60 years. Twenty two members of the graduating class, three other classmates, and 11 guests attended the reunion. Classmates came from Oregon, Montana, Virginia and throughout Ohio.

"Opposition of Mars" is the program title of a 9:30 to 11 p.m. Monday, July 30, event at the ONU Observatory, according to Dr. Jason Pinkey, observatory manager.
Pinkey said: "Mars will be just three days passed opposition.'Opposition' is the planetary configuration in which the planet appears in the opposite direction as the Sun from the Earth's perspective.
"It is also the time of closest approach to the Earth, making Mars look bigger and brighter than usual. This will be the closest we've come to Mars since the 2003 opposition (but that was the closest in about 60,000 years).
On Sunday July 15, the Hardin County Wranglers 4-H club completed a
community service project at the Hardin County Fairgrounds followed by a
brief meeting. 10 members, 8 advisors, and 1 parent were present.
Reminder's were given about ordering t-shirts, fair entries, and fair
booth information.
The next meeting will be held on Sunday August 5, 6:30 p.m. at the Hardin County Extension Office.
