ADA - The host Ada softball team crushed Vanlue 13-0 Friday evening in a non-conference mismatch on a windy Friday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 11-6 after the win, the last regularly scheduled home game of the spring. Ada s expected to play a sectional game at ahome, and will likely add a home game in the interim between May 3 and May 10.
Ada freshman hurler Leona Dalton pitched a two-hit shutout over five innings to earn her ninth victory. "Leona pitched for the third straight day and threw well," noted Ada head coach Troy Erickson.
The 4x800-meter relay team of junior Ian McVey (Stow/Munroe Falls), sophomore Andrew Shelton (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) and seniors Alec Lunney (Middleburg Heights/Berea-Midpark) and Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) capped off a solid start for the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team on day one of the 2018 OAC Championships at Kerscher Stadium.

ONU junior Maddy Reed (Piketon) won the pole vault, while sophomore Maggie Krause(Chagrin Falls/Kenston) and senior Kelly Wollenslegel (Clyde) finished 2-3, respectively in the event to lead the No. 9-ranked Ohio Northern on the first day of the 2018 Outdoor Ohio Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships at Kerscher Stadium on Friday.

Reed became the back-to-back champion in the pole vault, claiming the title with a facility record vault of 12' 7.5".
The 15th annual Hardin County plant sale will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 at the Hardin County Fairground Arts and Crafts building.
