Tune into WONB 94.9 FM on Friday at 8:30 a.m. to hear Ada senior Chase Sumner talk about his commitment to wrestle and continue his education at the University of Pittsburgh next year.

On this week’s edition of ‘The Pep Talk’ with Grant Pepper, Sumner discussed why he chose Pitt, as he had offers from other Div. I schools like Buffalo to consider as well.

“They’re a young program so they can’t go anywhere but up. I love the coaching staff, I love the campus down there, just about everything,” Sumner said. “And my biggest thing was, how high is my ceiling? What’s my full potential? And I feel like I can reach that the most at Pitt.”

DOLA - The visiting Ada softball team rallied from an early deficit to blast county rival Hardin Northern 17-4 Wednesday evening in a non-league makeup game.

Ada improved to 8-2 this season with their seventh win in eight games.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 3-0 after two innings. But Ada plated five in the third to take the lead for good, then added three scores in the fourth to build an 8-4 lead.

The Bulldogs then broke it open with two runs in the fifth frame and a whopping seven-run outburst in the sixth.

This 4 month old female puppy is ready for adoption on Friday, April 20. She is a border collie mix. Can you give her a forever home?

To give a dog a forever home, contact the Hardin County dog shelter. It is located at 49 Jones Road on the west side of Kenton.

Hours: 9 am to 4 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Phone: 419-674-2209.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.

The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.

LIMA -- The Ohio Northern women's tennis team battled into the late hours of the evening before pulling out a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Otterbein in a battle of league unbeatens Wednesday evening at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 15-4 overall and move into first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 5-0 record, while the Cardinals fall to 13-4, 5-1.

The match was moved indoors due to inclement weather and was pushed back to an 8:15 pm start time due to court availability at ONU's indoor home courts in Lima.

Golden retriever Abby enjoys a game of football in the snow this morning. It’s more football weather than tennis time this year on April 19. You look out the window and think, “I’m going to cry.” Or, you can say, “How beautiful.” No matter how you look at it, Old Man Winter doesn’t want to leave this year. 2018 may just be one of those years when we go from cold right into hot summer. Stay tuned.
