ONU sophomore Josh Mohr (Oregon/Clay) earned his first career Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week nod for his efforts this week as ONU posted a perfect 4-0 week.

Mohr was a big part of the Polar Bears success as he posted a 2-0 record, while appearing in two contests last week.

The sophomore pitcher posted a 1.2 ERA in 15.0 innings of work and fanned nine batters in his two appearances.

Mohr pitched a complete game shutout victory in ONU's second game at Capital, striking out eight batters during the contest and only allowing four hits.

ONU senior Shannen Larsen Van Alstine (Neenah, Wis.) has been named the Women's Lacrosse Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Larsen Van Alstine earned the honor for the first time this season and the second time in her career.

The senior was a perfect 2-0 in the goal last week, with a 1.83 goals against average in the two victories last week.

She stopped seven of nine shots on goal as ONU outscored its opponents by a combined 36-6 during the week.

ONU senior Zach Goodchild (Pickerington/North) has been named the Men's Ohio Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week for his efforts at the ONU Golf Classic.

Goodchild earns the honor for the first time in his career.

The senior carded a 7-over par 75-74—149 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team at the ONU Spring Classic.

Goodchild currently leads the team with an average of 75.3 strokes per round this season.

Northern will be back in action Apr. 21-22 as it competes in the 2-day Defiance Spring Invitational.

ONU senior Emily Richards (Delaware/Hayes) continued to add to her list of Ohio Athletic Conference awards as she was named the OAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

 

Richards competed in the 800-meter run at the 39th Annual Sun Angel Classic hosted by Arizona State this past weekend.

The senior was a competitor in the premier section on the event, where she finished second overall and was the top collegian in the event in 2:02.84.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team swept the three doubles matches and won five of the six singles courts to post an 8-1 victory at Capital on Monday afternoon at the Scarborough East Racquet Club.

The Polar Bears improve to 8-6 overall and are 2-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Crusaders fall to 2-5, 0-2.

Northern got off to a quick start by sweeping the three doubles matches.

Catherine Ann Meade, age 74 on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 8:22 a.m. at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

          She was born September 21, 1943 in Hardin County, Ohio to John and Corsie (Prater) Bailey who preceded her in death.  She married Willie Meade on February 28, 1965 and he died on January 10, 1983. 

          Catherine was a homemaker.  She was attended the Hardin County Council on Aging Adult Day Care.
