Betty Stevenson was a former Liberty Township clerk
Betty P. Stevenson, 93, died on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at 2:35 a.m. at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1920, in Dola, Ohio, to Carl and Viola (Dirmeyer) Kahler and they preceded her in death. On Dec. 25, 1938, she married Charles W. "Chuck" Stevenson and he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1996.
She formerly served as clerk for Liberty Township and had worked at the Ada IGA. She was a member of Sugar Grove United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Stevenson was a member of the VFW Post #9381 Women's Auxiliary. She had been an officer of Hardin County Chapter #34 of PERS. She was a member and former officer of the Ada Senior Citizens.
Surviving is a daughter, Sharon (William) Good of Kenton; daughter-in-law, Ruth Griffin of Alger; grandchildren, Tom (Deb) Good, Janet (John) Albert, Susan (Gary) Summa, Ron (Lori) Stevenson, and John (Brenda) Stevenson; great grandchildren, Brent (Jennie) Good, Kristen (Matt) Terhark, Tyler Summa, Ross (Jessica Wolf) Stevenson, Scott (Natalie Lauck) Albert, Lacy (Chad) Brown, Kyle (Melanie Allen) Albert, Troy (Emily Braithwaite) Summa, and Matthew Stevenson; seven great great grandchildren; and a brother; Miles Kahler of West Jefferson.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Stevenson in 1977; a great granddaughter, Rachel Stevenson; a brother Richard Kahler; and a sister, Martha Myers.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Courtnie Morton officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sugar Grove United Methodist Church.
