Ada Midgets football and cheerleaders gearing up for 2nd Cancer Walk
The second annual Ada Midget Football and Cheerleading Cancer Walk is Sunday, Oct. 12, at Ada War Memorial Park and Stadium. The walk is from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Amy Durkin, one of the walk's sponsors said, "Together we can educate the youth and individuals in our community about the importance of giving back and helping those in need. It truly is about the 'we' and not the 'me'"!
She added that it is about coming together as a community.
Persons can support this cause by individual sponsorship, purchasing one of the brilliant colored cancer walk t-shirts, making a donation, or by buying a 50/50 raffle tickets.
Durkin said that 100 percent of the proceeds go to "Not By Choice Outreach" in Kenton, to directly benefit cancer patients in our county and community. To learn more about this event, follow on Facebook at: Http://www.facebook.com/cancerwalkadamidgetfootball.
