Just what you wanted: Another snow day
*** Major Late-Winter Storm for AEP’s East Utilities Today ***
*** Heavy Wind-Driven Snow for I&M Power and NW Ohio ***
*** High Winds & Severe Thunderstorms for APCo ***
A intensifying storm will track directly across AEP’s East Utilities today bringing a range of wild weather. Heavy, wet, wind-driven snow now falling over I&M Power & northwest Ohio will gradually become a dry snow as temperatures fall into the 20s. However, enough heavy wet snow has already fallen to generate some problems for the utility.
For AEP Ohio, rain will change to snow and blowing snow with wind gusts of 40-45 mph today. While travel will become difficult as roads flash-freeze utility problems now look minor for most districts as winds will remain just under problematic thresholds. One exception is western Ohio where 3-6 inches of heavy, wet, wind-driven snow may result in problems.
