The Village Voice: East Lima Avenue reconstruction underway

East Lima Avenue Reconstruction has begun. In an ideal world, progress happens overnight and none of us are inconvenienced while improvements are made. Progress in Ada may not happen overnight, but we do like to warn residents when it’s coming, in an effort to minimize the level of inconvenience.

If you have been near East Lima Avenue in the past week, you probably have seen various construction signs and equipment in the area. The street reconstruction project that was first shared in a public meeting in 2012, officially began last Friday, February 28. The project is expected to finish in October 2014.

The Village has been working with the businesses and residents along East Lima Avenue through public hearings and letters. Construction updates are expected to come with short notice, given the nature of any construction project, so we ask that residents check the Village website, www.adaoh.org, for updates. Please go to “Projects”, then click on “East Lima Avenue ‘14” to be directed to the project page.

The road will be closed as needed, so if possible, avoid unnecessary travel on East Lima Avenue. If you need to be in the area, please save yourself some frustration by planning ahead and allowing for unexpected delays. Please respect any road closure signs or barricades, as they are put up to provide a safe working environment for the construction crews.

We appreciate your patience as we begin an improvement project that Council has determined to be in the best interest of Ada. The construction period may seem long at times, but if you need a reminder of the results, visit West Lima Avenue, Lincoln Avenue or Main Street to see what is in store at the end of the project!

Village Recycling Reminder – If you have your refuse/recycling picked up as part of the Village contract, just a reminder that recycling will be picked up on Tuesday.
