In December of 2013, Village Council voted to approve a request to close West Highland Avenue from Main Street to the alley west of the United Methodist Church property. 

The purpose for the closure is to ensure a safe construction environment while the new United Methodist Church is being built this spring.

The Village has received word that the closure will begin Wednesday, March 19. There will be no access to the street, parking, and sidewalks while the street is closed. The street closure is authorized until April 1, 2015.

The community lost the United Methodist Church due to a fire on March 19, 2012. The Village is encouraged by the decision to rebuild on the same site and keeping the church on Main Street.

The contractor will be responsible for maintaining restricted access to the construction site. We ask that residents respect the barriers that are put in place to protect the site, pedestrians, and travelers while under construction. Do not move or walk around barriers. Please plan your travel routes accordingly, either on foot or in a vehicle.
