The National Weather Service has posted a fog advisory for Hardin and Logan Counties:
DENSE FOG ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EDT THIS MORNING
Within the last two hours I once again received a letter at my door in Ada from an anonymous group trying to raise the alarm against books “teaching our toddlers & youth about the gay, lesbian, transgender, & other lifestyle.” They are encouraging us to contact the Ada Library and express our concerns. What they fail to realize is that I, and I believe most of the residents of Ada are much more concerned with the actions of their group with their attempt to censor what is and is not available at our library for the public’s use.
Car break-ins and thefts recently resulted in the arrests of the same individual in Ada and Kenton.
As reported in the Icon's council summary of November 1, the individual was arrested after being found sleeping in a car in Ada last week. On November 1 that person was arrested in Kenton.
Last week the Ada Rotary Club met for breakfast rather than lunch to host Dr. Karen Warkentin of Boston University.
Dr. Warkentin delivered the 2022 Terry Keiser Distinguished Lectureship in the Life Sciences at Ohio Northern University on Oct. 25 and spent time with students, faculty and others in Ada during the rest of the week.
The club has hosted the Keiser lecturer and friends of Rotary at a breakfast each year thanks to the generosity of the ONU biology department and the Keiser Lectureship.
