Cessna Minutemen 4-H Club start thinking about Hardin County Fair
by Jessica Breidenbach
On May 20, 2014 the Cessna Minutemen met for a meeting at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. President Zac Breidenbach called the meeting to order. Levi Thompson led the Pledge of Allegiance and Tiffany Gebrin led the 4-H pledge. Secretary Kenzie Kater held roll call by asking the Cessna Minutemen their favorite summer activity. Eighteen members were present. The minutes and the treasurer's report were read and approved.
Emily and Will Jones gave a demonstration on how to take a bird out of a cage and fluff them. The t-shirt colors this year are aquatic blue and maroon. Order forms were distributed and can be returned at the next meeting, along with payment. Ashton Stevenson volunteered for health and safety. All members involved in livestock must have their animals before June 1 except for broilers. Weigh in for dairy feeders is on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Hardin County fair grounds from 8 to 10. The members should already have their paper work and registration deadline is June 1. 4-H camp sign-ups are on June 6 at the extensions office. 4-H camp will be from July 21 to July 25. Preston Rembis educated the members on vending machine safety. For recreation, the members played "ninja."
The next meeting will be held on June 3 at the church annex.
