Village Voice: Watering your garden with potable water? Consider the summer sewer credit
Watering your garden and/or lawn with potable water? Consider the Summer Sewer Credit.
Each summer, many Ada residents increase their water usage as a result of watering their gardens and lawns. Per Codified Ordinance 921.13, residents may apply for a sewer credit to help offset that added sewer expense.
An annual fee of $5.00 must be paid in order to qualify for the credit. That payment can be made at the Water Office, beginning immediately.
The credit amount is figured by taking the average usage over the previous 8 months, which would include usage for October to May. That credit is then applied to the Sewer portion on your sewer account each month that the credit is available.
The credit is available for the billing periods of June, July, August and September. The credit is sometimes applied to your account after the bill has been printed, so you may need to contact the Water Office to get your balance with the credit. If you have paid the $5.00 fee and are in doubt about having received the credit, please contact the Water Office at 419-634-4045.
