Cellentani, Stromback ITA Scholar Athlete; women's tennis team named All-Academic Team
ONU Junior Kristin Cellentani and sophomore Taryn Stromback were named Scholar Athletes in women's tennis by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). This is the second consecutive season that both Cellentani and Stromback have earned this honor.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the academic school year and be enrolled at the school for at least two semesters.
Cellentani, a accounting major, has a career record of 90-28. This past season she posted a 36-6 record, including a 21-2 mark in doubles action.
Stromback went 34-12 in the 2013-14 season. She is majoring in pharmaceutical business and is 86-26 in her career.
In addition, the Polar Bears also earned ITA All-Academic Team honors. This is the third straight season ONU has received this award as a team and 12th time in the last 13 seasons. This award is presented to a program that has a team cumulative GPA of at least 3.20.
Under head coach Scott Wills, coaching his 13th year, Ohio Northern went 17-5 and appeared in its fourth consecutive OAC Tournament championship.
