Vote for ONU's Cody Lovejoy and Nathan Rosenbaum in Elite 89 Award contest
The NCAA has launched a contest that will allow fans to vote for their favorite Elite 89 Award winners from the 2013-14 academic school year.
Ohio Northern had two student-athletes win the prestigious award.
Junior wrestler Cody Lovejoy earned his second straight Elite 89 Award this past season.
He was named Capital One First Team Academic All-America and earned All-American honors at the NCAA III Wrestling Championships with a seventh place finish.
Also winning a award for ONU in cross country was junior Nathan Rosenbaum.
He earned First Team All-OAC and All-Great Lakes Region honor, while being named First Team Capital One Academic All-America.
The Elite 89, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
The award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at each of the NCAA's 89 championship sites.
Voting will open on July 7 and close on July 13, where the field of all 89 winners will be narrowed down to 30 semifinalists.
The following week will see the field dwindled to 10 finalists, with a winner being crowned on July 18.
