The Buy Ada First committee hosted its second Music on Main of the summer downtown on July 11. The evening at the Depot Park included music by the Band Kwik Fire (sponsored by Liberty National Bank). The Ada Kiwanis Club sold Harlan’s Chicken Barbecue dinners.

This year is an active one for the committee. Among those includes:
• Buy Ada First Night at ONU men’s basketball vs. Wilmington
• Continuation of Ada’s “Cash Mob”
• “Music on Main” this summer
• Soup Cook-off this fall (in conjunction with the Halloween parade)

“2013 was a successful year and we’re encouraged by the participation from the community. Last year was the first year for the soup cook-off and it was very successful. We hope to keep the momentum going this year to raise awareness to shop locally,” she said.
