Ada Flea Market host to Aug. 28 cash mob
A “cash mob” is coming to Ada in August.
The Buy Ada First Committee will hold the next cash mob on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ada Flea Market on Main Street.
A cash mob is like a flash mob, but instead of singing or dancing, cash mobbers join together to support their local economy by visiting and making purchases at a selected local business.
“Participation is easy, tell your friends, show up, make a purchase large or small and celebrate your local community. Join in the fun and give a local business a boost,” said Heather Cox, of the committee.
Cash mobs encourage members of the community to support a local business by creating an immediate economic stimulus. It also creates a way to unify people in a community.
How can residents participate and spread the word? Watch Ada Facebook accounts Twitter messages, e-mails and the local media. When residents see information about Ada’s April cash mob, they are encouraged to spread the word to their friends via social media.
