Rotary reps have “marvelous time” in Australia
“A marvelous time!”
That’s how Ada Rotarian Bill Trudeau and daughter Keli, an Ada eighth grader, described their recent trip to Australia, where they attended the Rotary International Convention.
After the convention in Sydney, Bill and Keli journeyed on to Melbourne before flying home. Keli took advantage of the opportunity to visit four Australian universities, no doubt dreaming of adventures that might lie ahead.
The Trudeaus presented a program on the convention and sightseeing in Australia at the recent Ada Rotary meeting.
Ada Rotary also laid plans for future events, including the blood drive Monday, Sept. 8, from 11:30-6 p.m. at Community Health Professionals. Rotary members will staff the event and provide drinks and snacks to those who donate blood.
Ada Rotary will also have a booth at the Harvest & Herb Festival in downtown Ada Sept. 20.
In other Rotary news:
• President Angela Hersh appointed President-elect Becky Neville to represent Rotary on the Town & Gown Committee.
• The club voted to admit Linda Armstrong, Manager of U.S. Bank in Ada, as a new member. Rotary members agreed to continue the custom of paying a new member’s dues for the first three months.
• Decided to hold the club’s fourth annual Wine Pairing at the Inn at Ohio Northern December 4. More details will be forthcoming.
Ada Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at Noon at the Inn at Ohio Northern University.
