Happy cruising on East Lima - just follow the yellow stripes
The $2.1 million East Lima Avenue reconstruction project is nearing completion. Vehicles are now permitted on the street as construction crews put final touches on the project.
The Reconstruction Project is funded in part by grants from the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Ohio Public Works Commission.
Among major timeline events in the project include:
September 2012 – Ada council held public meeting to explain details of the project. Included in the reconstruction are a new 48-inch diameter storm sewer and a new 12-inch diameter water main.
January 2013 - Bids were opened for the project and the Bluffton Paving was the bid winner.
April 2014 - Temporary mailboxes were installed on South. Simon Street. The post office delivered mail to these mailboxes for the duration of the project.
May 2014 - The installation of new sanitary sewer lateral taps was completed.
August 2014 -Concrete work on driveways and curbs began.
September 2014 - Fine grading the street began in preparation for asphalt paving.
