John Brinkman, 1943-2014
John T. Brinkman, 71, died on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at 9:14 p.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on March 25, 1943, in Lima, Ohio, to Leo and Regina (Metzger) Brinkman and they preceded him in death. He married Kaylene A. Spencer on May 2, 1964 and she died on Dec. 23, 2003.
John retired as brick mason from Local #35.
Surviving are three sons: Tom (Penny) Brinkman of Harrod, Mark Brinkman of LaFayette and Matthew (Jennifer) Brinkman of Harrod; a daughter, Gina Robinson of Harrod; nine grandchildren: Brooke, Cody, Nathan, Michaela, Hunter, Johnny, Lake, Dane and Emma; one great grandson, Brantley; a brother, Art (Mary) Brinkman of Lima; three sisters: Janet Skinner of Lima, Mary (Steve) Smith of Lima and JoAnn (David) Szipple of Sidney.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Skinner.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Gary Rummel officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Westminster.
Friends may call 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
