Pool income tax levy renewal on Tuesday's ballot
On Tueday, Ada village voters will decide the fate of a .15 percent renewal income tax levy for repairs, maintenance, operations and improvements to the Ada pool.
Fund collected from the tax do the following:
• Provides money for operating costs
• Upgrade and maintenance of old filter system
• Bathhouse upgrades and improvements
• Concrete deck repairs
• Water slide upgrade and repairs
• Added new features to the pool
• Builds a pool reserve fund
If passed the levy will be in force for the next 20 years. The levy is a renewal of an income tax first passed 20 years ago, in 1995.
The Ada pool was constructed in 1936. In 1975 it received its first major upgrade. In 1995, thanks to the passage of the first tax levy, the slide a zero entry to the pool, and concession stand was added.
