PANDORA - The Ada High School volleyball team concluded its first Blanchard Valley Conference season with a three-set loss at tough Pandora-Gilboa Monday night, October 6.

P-G swept Ada 25-19, 25-12, 25-11.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 10-11 overall and finished 3-7 in the BVC to end up eighth in the 11-team league standings.

P-G improved to 15-5 overall and 8-1 in BVC play with the sweep to stay tied for second place with Liberty-Benton. Leipsic leads the BVC at 9-0.

Ada senior Tess Griffith led the way with nine kills and seven digs.

ADA – The Ada High School girls soccer team was seeded fifth at the brutally difficult eight-team Bluffton Div. V sectional drawing Sunday, October 6.

The Ada girls face a tall first round task as they will play at unbeaten Northwest Conference leader Columbus Grove (12-0-2) Tuesday, October 15 at 6 p.m.

Columbus Grove is seeded second, and undefeated Mansfield Christian (11-0-2) is third in the top half of the loaded draw. North Central Ohio Soccer Association co-champion Riverdale was seeded first. 

Ada (10-6) has won a program-record 10 games in the regular season this fall despite a youthful roster.

The Regal Beagle, 105 N. Main St., celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, October 5. In a Facebook annoucement, the owners noted, "As we embark on this exciting journey, we want to remind everyone that this is a fresh start for the Regal Beagle. Lois Lee, age 70, of Ada, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health System. 

She was born on August 22, 1954 in Stockbridge, Michigan to the late Rev. Scott and Olive (Wisecup) Clemons.  On October 6, 1979 Lois married Ronald E. Lee and he survives in Ada. 

Also surviving are her children: Missy (Todd) Bunge of Cosby, TN and Travis (Cortney) Lee of Kenton; two grandchildren: Shelby and Rylen; and sister, Rita Tainer. 

Lois was preceded in death by her brother, Darl Clemons and sister, Judy Bailey. 

Lois worked for Sodexo at Ohio Northern University, Ada as a custodian.  She previously worked at Wilson Sporting Goods, Ada. 

Ada High School Homecoming celebrations include a week full of activities for students and the community. Sunday night Powderpuff Football kicks of events that end on Saturday with the Homecoming Dance. 

Team sets new single season Bulldog record

ADA – Playing at home, the Ada High School girls soccer team built a lead, then held off a late charge by Hardin County rival Kenton to win a chippy 2-1 battle. The October 5 match was the final home game of the regular season at War Memorial Stadium.
