Following retirement, Bob Reichenbach worked at Health Check
Robert "Bob" L. Reichenbach, 84, died Jan. 19, 2015, at 7:15 a.m., at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. He was born April 8, 1930, in Marion, Ohio, to the late William and Sibyl (Cooley) Reichenbach. On Jan. 14, 1955, he married Carrol Goodwin Reichenbach who survives.
He was a life-long farmer and retired from Ex-Cell-O Corporation, Bluffton. After retirement, he worked at his daughter and son-in-law's health food store, Health Check in Ada. He was an active member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton, and was assisted in the Bible Study group at Willow Ridge, Bluffton.
He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and supported the Bluffton Athletic Boosters. Bob assisted in building the Upper Scioto Valley School Athletic Building. He picked Suter's Strawberries every summer and passed them out to businesses, family and friends.
He was active in 4-H with his children. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Bluffton American Legion Post #382.
Survivors also include three daughters, Debra (Rick) Krummrey of Alger, Sharon (Jim) Shoemaker of Bluffton, Barbara Beaver of Findlay; a step-daughter, Marilyn (Robert) Blank of Pandora, nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Roy (Iwona) Reichenbach of McLean, Va.; a sister Barbara (Robert) Mayer of Cridersville; and an aunt Betty Lindsey of Kenton.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Pastor Jeremy Mann and William Herr officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton where military rites will be performed by American Legion Post #382.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Church of Christ, the Allen County Humane Society or Angels for Animals.
