Anna Mae Shadley was retired faculty secretary at ONU College of Pharmacy
Anna Mae Shadley, 85, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 8:55 a.m. at the Lima Convalescent Home, Lima.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1929, in McGuffey, Ohio, to Clarence Kramer and Juanita (Croy) Kramer-Furr and they preceded her in death. On July 23, 1950, she married Ralph Lee Shadley and he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2000.
Anna Mae worked from 1967 to 1979 as a secretary at USV Elementary and Jr. High Schools in Alger. She worked as a faculty secretary at Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy from 1981 until she retired in 1994.
Anna Mae attended McGuffey High School, but was a 1947 graduate of Alger High School. She was a member of the Alger First United Methodist Church, Alger. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, and served as the church secretary, pianist, organist and choir director. Anna Mae was a member of the former 3 Arts Club of Alger and a member of the ONU Secretarial Association. She was a former Girl Scout leader and a past correspondent for the Kenton Times and the Ada Herald.
Surviving are two sons: David Eric and Vicky (Wibright) Shadley of Horicon, Wisc., and Daniel Erwin and Janet (Muxlow) Shadley of Juneau, Wisc.; a daughter, Patricia Ann (Shadley) and Michael Vollmar of Lima; seven grandchildren: Erica (Eric Lamb) Shadley, Stephanie (Shadley) and Philip Krueger, Matthew (Cassey) Shadley, Cable Shadley Ussery, Mitchell (Krista) Shadley, Sarah (Vollmar) and Bob Lyons II and Jackie (Josh Baerwald) Shadley; six great grandchildren: Robby Lyons, Laytin Krueger, Jacob Lyons, Colton Crawford and twin Baby Kruegers on the way; three half brothers: Robert (Claudine) Kramer of Lima, William Kramer of Texas and Richard (Katie) Kramer of Kenton; three half sisters: Carole (Bill) McAfee of Belpre, Garnet (Rod) Gardner of Bucyrus and Marilyn (Brad) Crates of Ohio; four sisters-in-law: Virginia Marion of Brown City, Mich., Pat Moyer of Dallas, Texas, Ruth (Shadley) and George Jensen and Sandie Shadley both of Brown City, Mich.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Liana (Shadley) Ussery; four brothers-in-law: Robert Shadley, Ron Shadley, Jack Marion and Don Moyer; two sisters-in-law: Sandie Kramer and Mary Lou (Shadley) Schoenhals.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Alger First United Methodist Church at 101 East Montville St., Alger, with Pastor Andrew Burns and Rev. Calvin Waugh officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call three hours prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alger First United Methodist Church.
