Dora Dyer 1921-2015
Dora (Minix) Dyer, 93 died on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 7:15 p.m. at residence in Alger.
She was born on December 6, 1921, in Carver, Kentucky, to Kim and Doris (Williams) Minix who preceded her in death. On November 2, 1940 she married Dexter Dyer and he died on May 14, 2001.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are 3 sons: Kenneth (Judy) Dyer of Harrod, Danny (Connie) Dyer of Alger, and Rick (Lori) Dyer of Alger; and 5 daughters: Watha (Darrell) Guyton of LaFayette, Linda (Kenny) Rowe of Harrod, Doris Dyer of Harrod, Cindy Dyer of Harrod, and Jackie DeCarlo of Powell; 11 grandchildren: Tammie (Keith) VanHoose, Tony Dyer, Tracie (Travis) Briedenbach, Lisa (Nate) Felkey, Darin (Amie) Rowe, Dunel (Brett) Fry, Cristal (Howard) Lyle, Matt (Melanie) Dyer, Nic Dyer, Maclain Dyer and Peyton Dyer; a step granddaughter, Lynn (Matt) Miller; Nineteen great grandchildren, one step great grandson and one great-great grandson; a sister Charlotte Jackson of Salyersville, Ky.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; five brothers: Hassel, Clyde, Cecil, Clarence and Ralph Minix; three sisters: Ora Lee Cole, Ella Ree Howard and Rella Minix.
Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 13, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Mark Bayliff officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 2 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice of Lima and/or Community Health Professionals – Hospice of Ada
