Electronics recycling in Ada April 21-22
Katrina Linz, president of ONU Recycling, promotes an effort to collect electronics from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in McIntosh Center. The collection will take place April 21 and 22 for the local community and campus as part of Earth Week.
Most all electronics will be be accepted, except lightbulbs, TVs, and alkaline batteries.
During the school year, ONU Recycles collected aluminum cans and plastic bottles, placing 9th among 65 schools in a Pepsico-sponsored national competition.
Funds from the recycled material will help disabled veterans start businesses.
Also, the club promotes environmental education, teaching the campus community the benefits of recycling and encouraging people to recycle more. (Monty Siekerman)
