Helen Pyatt lived to be 103 years old
Helen M. Pyatt, 103 died on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 8:13 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1911, in Bedford, Pennsylvania, to Elmer and Blanche (Diehl) Diehl and both are deceased. She married Albert Meier in 1937 and he died. She then married Leroy Pyatt in June 1966 and he died in September 1982.
Helen was a sales associate in a retail shoe store in Salem, Ohio. Helen was a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church of Ada, Ohio and a graduate of Salem High School; she was a former member of the Rebecca Club of Salem, Ohio; a member of the Salem, Ohio and Bluffton, Ohio Senior Citizens; and she was a former member of the Ada Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two daughters: Margie (Dave) Clingerman of Parker, Colorado and Betty Lyons of Ada, Ohio. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren: David James of Denver, Colorado, Mark James of Denton, Texas and Todd Lyons of Dayton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Esta Woodworth, Ella Mason and Erma Loesch; and 2 brothers: Plummer Diehl and Harold Diehl.
It was her request to be cremated and there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Hope Memorial Garden in Hope Cemetery in Salem, Ohio.
