Abe Rowe was pastor of Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God
Rev. Abe Rowe, 87, died Sunday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m.. The son of Noah Rowe and Martha Hollon Rowe, he was born on September 9, 1927 in Breathitt County, Kentucky.
He served at the end of World War II in Germany as a member of the U.S. Army, and received an honorable discharge upon return.
On November 9, 1950 he married Lucy Dyer. He is survived by his wife; four children: Rocky (Vickie) Rowe of Lima, Fred (Kathy) Rowe of Waynesfield, Sonja (Virgil) Dye of Alger, and Paul (Erin) Rowe of Dola; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Stella (Frank) Dyer of Alger and Beatrice (Jerry) Kortokrax of Lima.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
He served as pastor of Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God, Alger, and was a member of Ada Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of God, Ada. He also sang and played the guitar.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Ada Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of God at 1047 State Route 235, Ada, with Rev. Karen Rarey officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger with graveside military rites conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at Hanson-Neely Home, Alger, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
